✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ when the sakinah overwhelmed him — or it descended — and the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell upon my thigh. I did not see anything that pressed down heavier than the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When it was taken from him — or lifted from him — he said, 'Read.' I read. He said, 'Write: {Not equal are those believers who sit [at home]} and {the mujahidun in the cause of Allah}.' Then Amr b. Umm Maktum, the blind man, said, 'O Messenger of Allah, my eyes have a disability.' Then the sakinah overwhelmed him, and the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell upon my thigh. I never found anything heavier than the thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When it was taken from him — or lifted from him — he said, 'Read.' I read. He said, 'Write: {except those who are disabled}.' I never forgot its insertion at a crack in the shoulder blade.
