✧ I bought oil from the market, and when I had received it in full, a man met me and offered me a good profit for it. I wanted to strike my hand on his hand [to conclude the sale], but a man behind me took hold of my arm. I turned and it was Zayd b. Thābit. He said: Do not sell it where you bought it until you have taken possession of it at your camel saddle, for the Messenger of God ﷺ forbade selling goods where they are bought until the merchants have taken possession of them at their saddles.
