حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ رِعْيَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ كِتَابًا فَرَقَّعَ بِهِ دَلْوَهُ فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ سَرِيَّةٌ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَاسْتَاقُوا إِبِلًا لَهُ فَأَسْلَمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَا مَا أَدْرَكْتَ مِنْ مَالِكَ بِعَيْنِهِ قَبْلَ أنْ يُقَسَّمَ فَأَنْتَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ»

✧ That the Messenger of God ﷺ wrote him a document, and he patched his bucket with it. A raiding party of the Messenger of God ﷺ passed by him and drove away some camels of his, so he became Muslim. The Messenger of God ﷺ said to him: "As for what you find of your property intact before it is divided, you have the most right to it."
