حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُرَقَّعُ أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ عَلَى جَدِّهِ رَبَاحِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ وَكَانَ الْمُقَدِّمَةُ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَمَرَّ رَبَاحُ وَأَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ قُتَيْلَةٍ قَتَلَتْهَا الْمُقَدِّمَةُ فَاجْتَمَعُوا عَلَيْهَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهَا وَإِلَى خَلْقِهَا وَيَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنْهَا حَتَّى جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وتَفَرَّجُوا فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا كَانَتْ هَذِهِ تُقَاتِلُ» فَنَظَرَ فِي وُجُوهِ الْقَوْمِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ «أَدْرِكْ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ فَقُلْ لَا تَقْتُلَنَّ ذُرِّيَّةً وَلَا عَسِيفًا»

✧ He informed him that he went out with the Messenger of God ﷺ on a military expedition, and the vanguard was under Khalid b. al-Walid. Rabah and the companions of the Prophet ﷺ passed by a slain woman whom the vanguard had killed. They gathered around her, looking at her and at her form, and marveling at her, until the Messenger of God ﷺ came and they parted. The Messenger of God ﷺ looked at her and said: "This woman was not one to fight." Then he looked into the faces of the people and said to one of them: "Catch up with Khalid b. al-Walid and say: Do not kill any child or hired servant."
