حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُزَيْقِ بْنِ جَامِعٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ أَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ عِبَادٍ قَالَ

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِذِي الْمَجَازِ يَتْبَعُ النَّاسَ فِي مَنَازِلِهِمْ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ» وَوَرَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ أَحْوَلُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ هَذَا عَنْ دِينِكُمْ وَدِينِ آبَائِكُمْ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ فَقَالُوا عَمُّهُ أَبُو لَهَبٍ

✧ “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Dhu al-Majaz following the people in their encampments, calling them to Allah ﷻ.” Behind him was a cross-eyed man saying, “O people, do not let this one deceive you away from your religion and the religion of your forefathers.” I said, “Who is this?” They said, “His uncle Abu Lahab.”
