al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 4569

✧ Rabi'ah son of al-Harith son of Abdul-Muttalib son of Hashim, also known as Abu Arwa. His mother and the mother of his brother Abu Sufyan son of al-Harith are the same person, Azza bt. Qays bin Tariq from the offspring of al-Harith bin Fehr. She passed away in the twenty-third year. Nofal son of al-Harith, also known as Abu al-Harith, passed away in al-Madinah in the fifteenth year. He is the brother of their father and mother. All of them are siblings of Rabi'ah, Abu Sufyan, and Nofal.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عًنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ قَالَ

كُنْتُ أَنَامُ فِي حُجْرَةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَكُنْتُ أَسْمَعْهُ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يُصَلِّي يَقُولُ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ» الْهَوِيَّ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ «سُبْحَانَ رَبِّي الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ» الْهَوِيَ قُلْتُ مَا الْهَوِيُّ فَقَالَ «يَدْعُو سَاعَةً»

✧ I used to sleep in the Prophet's ﷺ chamber, and I would hear him when he got up at night to pray, saying "Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds" for the hawi, then he would say "Glory be to my Lord the Magnificent and praise be to Him" for the hawi. I said: What is the hawi? He said: "He supplicates for a while."
