حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ الْمَقْدِسِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ

«كُنَّا نُؤَاجِرُ أَرْضَنَا بِالْمَاذِيَانَاتِ وَأَقْبَالِ الْجَدَاوِلِ فَيَسْلَمُ هَذَا وَيَهْلِكُ هَذَا فَنُهِينَا عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَلَا بَأْسَ بِأَجْرٍ مُسَمًّى»

✧ "We used to lease our land for the mādhiyānāt and the heads of the streams, and this would be safe while that would perish. So we were forbidden from that. There is no harm in a specified payment."
