حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّ زِيَادَ بْنَ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ ذِي الْأَصَابِعِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِ ابْتُلِينَا بِالْبَقَاءِ بَعْدَكَ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ فَقَالَ «عَلَيْكَ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ لَعَلَّ اللهُ أَنْ يَرْزُقَكَ ذُرِّيَّةً تَغْدُو إِلَيْهِ وَتَرُوحُ»

✧ That he said: "O Messenger of Allah, if we are tested with remaining after you, what do you command us?" He said: "You must keep to the House of the Holy, perhaps Allah will provide you with offspring who go there in the morning and return in the evening."
