✧ The Lineage of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and His Name: Abu Bakr Abdullah bin Uthman bin Amr bin Kaab bin Saad bin Taym bin Murrah

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ

اسْتُخْلِفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَتُوُفِّيَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ سَنَةَ ثَلَاثَ عَشْرَةَ وَسِنُّهُ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ «كَمَا ذَكَرَتْ عَائِشَةُ ؓ» سِنَّ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسِتِّينَ

Translation

✧ Abu Bakr ؓ was appointed as successor on the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died. Abu Bakr ؓ died in Jumada al-Akhirah in the year thirteen, and his age on the day he died, as 'A'isha ؓ mentioned, was the age of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which is sixty-three.
