حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ أَنَا بَقِيَّةُ عَنْ بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ
أَنَّ الْأَنْصَارَ اقْتَرَعُوا مَنَازِلَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يُؤْوِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَرَعَهُمْ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ فَأَوَى إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أُهْدِيَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامٌ أَصَابَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ بَعَثَ بِهِ إِلَيْنَا»

✧ The Ansar cast lots for their dwellings to see which of them would host the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The lot fell to Abu Ayyub, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed at his house. When food was given as a gift to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he would eat some of it, then send it to us.
