حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ سَهْمِ بْنِ مِنْجَابٍ عَنِ الْقَرْثَعِ الضَّبِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ تُفْتَحُ عِنْدَ زَوَالِ الشَّمْسِ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى الظُّهْرُ وَإِنِّي لَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يُرْفَعَ لِي فِيهِنَّ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray four rakʿahs before Ẓuhr when the sun began to decline. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is this prayer?” He said: “The gates of heaven are opened at the sun’s decline until Ẓuhr is prayed, and I love that righteous deeds be raised for me during them.”
