حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا بُعِثَ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ وَلَا كَانَ بَعْدَهُ خَلِيفَةٌ إِلَّا كَانَ لَهُ بِطَانَتَانِ بِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَاهُ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَبِطَانَةٌ لَا تَأْلُوهُ خَبَالًا فَمَنْ وُقِيَ بِطَانَةَ السُّوءِ فَقَدْ وُقِيَ

✧ I heard the Prophet of Allah ﷺ say: "No prophet was ever sent, nor was there ever a caliph after him, but he had two confidants: a confidant who enjoined him to do good and forbade him from evil, and a confidant who spared no effort to corrupt him. So whoever is protected from the evil confidant is protected."
