حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْحَارِثِيُّ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ عَمِّهِ مَخْرَمَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنِ الْأَشْتَرِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ

سَبَّنِي عَمَّارٌ فِي عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَجِئْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَوْلَاكَ مَا سَبَّنِي ابْنُ سُمَيَّةَ فَقَالَ «مَهْلًا يَا خَالِدُ مَنْ سَبَّ عَمَّارًا سَبَّهُ اللهُ وَمَنْ حَقَّرَ عَمَّارًا حَقَّرَهُ اللهُ»

✧ 'Ammar insulted me during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, so I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, were it not for you, the son of Sumayyah would not have insulted me.” He said, “Gently, O Khalid. Whoever insults 'Ammar, Allah insults him, and whoever belittles 'Ammar, Allah belittles him.”
