حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَلَكٍ الرَّاسِبِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مَسْمُولٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ

كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِنَّا إِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنَ الْغَائِطِ يَغْسِلُونَ أَثَرَ الْغَائِطِ فَنَزَلَتْ فِيهِمْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا}

✧ There were men among us who, when they came from defecation, would wash away the traces of feces. Then this verse was revealed concerning them: {In it are men who love to purify themselves}.
