حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ شَقِيقَ بْنَ سَلَمَةَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا خَبَّابٌ قَالَ
هَاجَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَبْتَغِي وَجْهَ اللهِ ﷻ وَوَجَبَ أَجْرُنَا عَلَى اللهِ فَمِنَّا مَنْ مَضَى وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ شَيْئًا مِنْهُمْ مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَلَمْ نَجِدْ شَيْئًا نُكَفِّنُهُ فِيهِ إِلَّا نَمِرَةً إِذَا غَطَّيْنَا بِهَا رَأْسَهُ خَرَجَتْ رِجْلَاهُ وَإِذَا غَطَّيْنَا رِجْلَيْهِ خَرَجَ رَأْسُهُ فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنْ نُغَطِّيَ رَأْسَهُ وَنَجْعَلَ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ إِذْخِرًا» وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَيْنَعَتْ لَهُ ثَمَرَتُهُ فَهُوَ يَهْدِبُهَا
Translation

✧ We emigrated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking the face of Allah ﷻ, and our reward became incumbent upon Allah. Among us were those who passed away without eating any of their reward. Among them was Mus'ab b. 'Umayr, who was killed on the day of Uhud, and we found nothing to shroud him in except a striped cloak. When we covered his head with it, his feet were exposed, and when we covered his feet, his head was exposed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to cover his head and to place idhkhir on his feet. And among us are those whose fruit has ripened for them, and they are picking it.
