حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا هَمَّامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ
أَنَّ جَدِّهِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ «مَا اسْمُكَ؟» قَالَ حَزْنٌ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُغَيِّرَ اسْمَهُ فَقَالَ مَا كُنْتُ لِأُغَيِّرُ اسْمًا سَمَّانِي بِهِ أَبِي قَالَ سَعِيدٌ فَتِلْكَ الْحُزُونَةُ فِينَا حَتَّى السَّاعَةِ
Translation

✧ His grandfather came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said to him: “What is your name?” He said: Hazn. He wanted to change his name, but he said: “I would not change a name my father gave me.” Sa‘id said: That ruggedness has remained among us until now.
