حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اهْجُوا قُرَيْشًا فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَشْقِ النَّبْلِ» فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى ابْنِ رَوَاحَةَ فَقَالَ «اهْجُهُمْ» فَهَجَاهُمْ فَلَمْ يَرْضَ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى حَسَّانِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ حَسَّانٌ قَالَ «قَدْ آنَ لَكُمْ أَنْ تُرْسِلُوا إِلَى هَذَا الْأَسَدِ الضَّارِبِ بِذَنَبِهِ» ثُمَّ دَلَعَ لِسَانَهُ فَجَعَلَ يُحَرِّكُهُ قَالَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَأَفْرِيَنَّهُمْ فَرْيَ الْأَدِيمِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَعْجَلْ فَإِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَعْلَمُ قُرَيْشٍ بِأَنْسَابِهَا وَإِنَّ لِي فِيهِمْ نَسَبًا حَتَّى يَخْلُصَ لَكَ نَسَبِي» فَأَتَاهُ حَسَّانٌ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ خَلَصَ لِي نَسَبُكَ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ لَأَسُلَّنَّكَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا تُسَلُّ الشَّعَرَةُ مِنَ الْعَجِينِ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لِحَسَّانٍ «إِنَّ رُوحَ الْقُدُسِ لَا يَزَالُ يُؤَيِّدُكَ مَا نَافَحْتَ عَنِ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ» قَالَتْ فَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «هَجَاهُمْ حَسَّانُ فَشَفَى وَاشْتَفَى» قَالَ حَسَّانُ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Satirize Quraysh, for it is harder on them than a volley of arrows.” He sent for Ibn Rawaha and said, “Satirize them,” so he satirized them, but he was not satisfied. Then he sent for Ka'b b. Malik, then he sent for Hassan b. Thabit. When Hassan entered, he said: “It is time for you to send for this lion who strikes with his tail.” Then he stuck out his tongue and began wagging it. He said: “By the One who sent you with the truth, I shall flay them as leather is flayed.” The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “Do not be hasty, for Abu Bakr knows Quraysh's genealogies better than anyone, and I have kinship among them, so that my lineage may be made clear to you.” Hassan went to him and then returned, saying: “O Messenger of God, your lineage has been made clear to me. By the One who sent you with the truth, I shall extract you from them as a hair is extracted from dough.” A'isha said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say to Hassan: “The Holy Spirit will never cease to support you as long as you defend God and His Messenger.” She said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: “Hassan satirized them, and he healed and was satisfied.” Hassan said:
