حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا غَسَّانُ بْنُ الْأَغَرِّ النَّهْشَلِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ النَّهْشَلِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ أَنَّهُ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ بِإِبِلٍ فَقَالَ
«يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مُرْ أَهْلَ الْوَادِي أَنْ يُعِينُونِي ويُحْسِنُوا مُخَالَطَتِي فَأَمَرَهُمْ فَقَامُوا مَعَهُ فَأَحْسَنُوا مُخَالَطَتَهُ ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ فَمَسَحَ يَدَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ وَدَعَا لَهُ»

✧ "O Messenger of God, command the people of the valley to help me and to treat me well in their dealings with me." So he commanded them, and they stood with him and treated him well in their dealings. Then he called him, passed his hand over his face, and supplicated for him.
