حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ قَالَ
جَاءَ حُصَيْنٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ وَيَقْرِي الضَّيْفَ مَاتَ قَبْلَكَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ أَبِي وَأَبَاكَ فِي النَّارِ» فَمَا مَضَتْ عِشْرُونَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى مَاتَ مُشْرِكًا

✧ Ḥuṣayn came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “What do you think of a man who maintained family ties and hosted guests and died before you?” The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “My father and your father are in the Fire.” Not twenty nights passed before he died as an idolater.
