حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الْقُرَشِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جُمُعَةَ قَالَ
غَزَوْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ فَقَالَ مَا أَحَدٌ خَيْرًا مِنَّا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَسْلَمْنَا وهَاجَرْنَا وَجَاهَدْنَا مَعَكَ؟ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِي آمَنُوا بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي»

✧ We went on a military campaign with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and with us was Abu Ubayda b. al-Jarrah. He said: 'Is anyone better than us, O Messenger of God? We embraced Islam, migrated, and strove with you.' He said: 'Yes, a people who will come after me, who believe in me without having seen me.'
