حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ وَأَبُو زَيْدٍ الْحَوْطِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أُسَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنِي صَالِحُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جُمُعَةَ قَالَ
تَغَدَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَحَدٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَّا أَسْلَمْنَا مَعَكَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ قَوْمٌ يَكُونُونَ مِنْ بَعْدِكُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِي وَلَمْ يَرَوْنِي»

✧ We ate lunch with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and with us was Abu Ubayda b. al-Jarrah. He said: 'O Messenger of God, is anyone better than us? We embraced Islam with you.' He said: 'Yes, a people who will come after you, who believe in me without having seen me.'
