حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي ضَمْضَمُ بْنُ زُرْعَةَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْعَرِيِّ
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي إِلَّا ثَلَاثَ خِلَالٍ أَنْ يُكْثَرَ لَهُمْ مِنَ الْمَالِ فَيَتَحَاسَدُوا فَيَقْتَتِلُوا وَأَنْ يُفْتَحَ لَهُمُ الْكُتُبُ يَأْخُذُ الْمُؤْمِنُ يَبْتَغِي تَأْوِيلَهُ وَلَيْسَ يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللهُ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبَّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ وَأَنْ يَرَوْا ذَا عِلْمِهِمْ فَيُضَيِّعُوهُ وَلَا يُبَالُونَ عَلَيْهِ

✧ He heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: I do not fear for my community except three traits: that wealth becomes abundant for them and they envy one another and fight; that the Book is opened to them and the believer takes it seeking its interpretation, but none knows its interpretation except God and those firmly rooted in knowledge, who say, “We believe in it; all is from our Lord,” and none take heed except people of understanding; and that they see their man of knowledge and waste him and do not care about him.
