حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ
«أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ مُعَاذٍ بَعَثَ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ أَوْسِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ أَخَا بَنِي حَارِثَةَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ إِلَى ابْنِ الْأَشْرَفِ فَلَمَّا ضَرَبَ ابْنَ الْأَشْرَفِ أَصَابَ رِجْلَ الْحَارِثِ ذُبَابُ السَّيْفِ فَحَمَلَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ»

✧ That Saʿd b. Muʿādh sent al-Ḥārith b. Aws b. al-Nuʿmān, a brother of the Banū Ḥāritha, with Muḥammad b. Maslama to Ibn al-Ashraf. When they struck Ibn al-Ashraf, the point of the sword wounded al-Ḥārith’s foot, so his companions carried him.
