حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ثنا غُنْدَرٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ الْحَجَّاجِ الْبَاهِلِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ

عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أُرَاهُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَهُمْ بِالْإِبْرَادِ بِالظُّهْرِ بِأَنَّ الْحَرَّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ»

✧ On the authority of a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, I think he is 'Abd Allah b. Mas'ud: "The Prophet ﷺ commanded them to delay the noon prayer until it cools down, because the heat is from the scorching heat of Hell."
