حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أَنَا مَالِكٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيَّ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ؟ وَكَانَ كَثِيرَ الصِّيَامِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ»

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us from Malik from Hisham b. 'Urwah from his father from 'A'ishah ؓ that Hamzah b. 'Amr al-Aslami said to the Messenger of God ﷺ, "Should I fast while traveling?" He was a man who fasted a great deal. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "If you wish, then fast, and if you wish, then break the fast."
