حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ثنا ذُؤَيْبُ بْنُ عِمَامَةَ السَّهْمِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ

افْتَقَدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَ «أَيْنَ كُنْتَ؟ فَإِنِّي لَمْ أَرَكَ؟ أَلَمْ تَشْهَدِ الصَّلَاةَ؟» قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنِّي جِئْتُ وَقَدْ ثَبَتَ النَّاسُ وَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَتَخَطَّى رِقَابَ النَّاسِ قَالَ «أَحْسَنْتَ»

  4. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Ḥumayd b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿAwf from his father from his grandfather

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ missed a man from his companions. He said, 'Where were you? For I did not see you. Did you not attend the prayer?' He said, 'Yes, but I came when the people had already settled, and I disliked stepping over people's necks.' He said, 'You did well.'
