حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ

«قُتِلَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ فِي سَنَةِ إِحْدَى وَسِتِّينَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَمَانٍ وَخَمْسِينَ سَنَةً وَكَانَ يَخْضِبُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ»

Translation

✧ Al-Husayn b. Ali was killed on the day of Ashura in the year sixty-one, and he was fifty-eight years old, and he used to dye [his hair] with henna and katam.
