حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا ضِرَارُ بْنُ صُرَدَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ يَعْفُورٍ الْجُعْفِيُّ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ غَالِبٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ فَرَأَى الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَقَالَ

يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُكَ عَلَى يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ خَضَّبْتَهَا دَمًا حِينَ أَتَى بِكَ حِينَ وُلِدْتَ فَسَررَّكَ ولَفَّكَ فِي خِرْقَةٍ وَلَقَدْ تَفَلَ فِي فِيكَ وَتَكَلَّمَ بِكَلَامٍ مَا أَدْرِي مَا هَوَ وَلَقَدْ كَانَتْ فَاطِمَةُ ؓ سَبَقَتْهُ بِقَطْعِ سُرَّةِ الْحَسَنِ ؓ فَقَالَ «لَا تَسْبِقِينِي بِهَا»

✧ O Abu Abd Allah, I saw you on the hands of the Messenger of God ﷺ with them stained with blood when you were brought to him at birth, and he delighted in you and wrapped you in a cloth. He spat into your mouth and spoke words I do not know. Fatimah ؓ had raced ahead of him in cutting the navel cord of al-Hasan ؓ, and he said, 'Do not race me in that.'
