حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ بُزُرْجَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ

«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَلْبَسَ أَجْوَدَ مَا نَجِدُ وَأَنْ نَتَطَيَّبَ بِأَجْوَدِ مَا نَجِدُ وَأَنْ نُضَحِّيَ بِأَسْمَنِ مَا نَجِدُ الْبَقَرَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ وَالْجَزُورُ عَنْ عَشَرَةٍ وَأَنْ نُظْهِرَ التَّكْبِيرَ وَعَلَيْنَا السَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ commanded us to wear the best of what we find, to perfume ourselves with the best of what we find, and to slaughter as sacrifices the fattest of what we find: a cow on behalf of seven, a camel on behalf of ten, and to proclaim the takbir aloud, with tranquility and dignity upon us.
