✧ A man called Muawiya—meaning Ibn Hudayj—reviled Ali ؓ with a foul insult in Muawiya's presence. Do you know him? He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'When you see him, bring him to me.' He said, 'He saw him at the house of Amr b. Hurayth, and he pointed him out to him.' He said, 'Are you Muawiya b. Hudayj?' He remained silent and did not answer him three times. Then he said, 'You are the one who reviled Ali in the presence of the son of the liver-eater. Indeed, if you reach the Pond—and I do not think you will reach it—you will find him with his sleeves rolled up and his arms bared, driving the disbelievers and hypocrites away from the Pond of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ just as stray camels are driven away from their owner. This is the saying of the truthful one, the one who was believed, Abu al-Qasim ﷺ.'
