حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ثنا حُدَيْجُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهَا ابْنَانِ لَهَا فَأَعْطَاهَا ثَلَاثَ تَمَرَاتٍ فَأَعْطَتِ ابْنَيْهَا كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا تَمْرَةً فَأَكَلَا تَمْرَتَيْهِمَا ثُمَّ جَعَلَا يَنْظُرَانِ إِلَى أُمِّهِمَا فَشَقَّتْ تَمْرَتَهَا بِنِصْفَيْنِ بَيْنَهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ رَحِمَهَا اللهُ بِرَحْمَتِهَا ابْنَيْهَا»

✧ A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with her two sons, and he gave her three dates. She gave each of her two sons one date, and they ate their two dates, then they began looking at their mother. She split her date into two halves between them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Allah has shown her mercy because of her mercy to her two sons."
