حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَ «ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ»
Translation

- ʿAbdullāh b. Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal from my father
✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about wiping over leather socks. He said: ‘Three days for the traveler and a day and a night for the resident.’
