✧ The lineage of Zubayr b. al-Awwam "Zubayr b. al-Awwam b. Khawilid b. Asad b. Abd al-Uzza b. Qusayy b. Kilab b. Murrah b. Ka'b b. Lu'ayy b. Ghalib b. Fihr b. Malik, known as Abu Abdullah, and his mother: Safiyyah bt. Abd al-Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ

سَمِعَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ أَنَا ابْنُ حَوَارِيِّ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ «إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنْ آلِ الزُّبَيْرِ وَإِلَّا فَلَا»

✧ Ibn Umar heard a man say, 'I am the son of the disciple of the Prophet ﷺ.' Ibn Umar said, 'If you are from the family of al-Zubayr, then yes; otherwise, no.'
