✧ The lineage of Zubayr b. al-Awwam "Zubayr b. al-Awwam b. Khawilid b. Asad b. Abd al-Uzza b. Qusayy b. Kilab b. Murrah b. Ka'b b. Lu'ayy b. Ghalib b. Fihr b. Malik, known as Abu Abdullah, and his mother: Safiyyah bt. Abd al-Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا أَبُو غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

«كَانَ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ؓ طَوِيلًا يَخُطُّ رِجْلَاهُ الْأَرْضَ إِذَا رَكِبَ الدَّابَّةَ أَشْعَرَ وَرُبَّمَا أَخَذْتُ بِشَعْرِ كَتِفَيْهِ»

✧ Al-Zubayr b. al-Awwam ؓ was tall; his feet would touch the ground when he mounted a riding beast. He had much hair, and sometimes I would grasp the hair on his shoulders.
