حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقِلَّوْرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا شُعْبَةُ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَا ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَشُخِّصَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا فَجَعَلْنَا نَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «أَمَا إِنَّكُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ كَمَا تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاتَيْنِ فَافْعَلُوا صَلَاةً قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَصَلَاةً قَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا»

✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ one night, and our eyes were raised and we began looking at the moon on the night of the full moon. He said: “Indeed you are looking at your Lord just as you look at this, not being harmed in seeing Him. So if you are able not to be overcome in respect of two prayers, then do so: a prayer before sunrise and a prayer before sunset.”
