حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ ثنا عَامِرٌ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ ؓ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْ إِنْسَانٍ شَيْءٌ فَقَالَ عَزَمْتُ عَلَى صَاحِبِ هَذه إِلَّا تَوَضَّأَ وَأَعَادَ صَلَاتَهُ فَقَالَ جَرِيرٌ أَوَ تَعْزِمُ عَلَى كُلِّ مَنْ سَمِعَهَا أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ وَأَنْ يُعِيدَ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ نِعِمَّا قُلْتُ جَزَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا فَأَمَرَهُمْ بِذَلِكَ

✧ When 'Umar ؓ led the people in prayer, something (i.e., wind) came out from a man, so he said: "I firmly resolve that the one who did this must perform ablution and repeat his prayer." Jarir said: "Would you also firmly resolve that everyone who heard it must perform ablution and repeat the prayer?" He said: "What an excellent thing you have said, may Allah reward you with good," and he ordered them to do that.
