حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِابْنِ التَّلِّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شُبْرُمَةَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ

أَنَّ جَرِيرًا ؓ بَارَزَ مِهْرَانَ فَقَتَلَهُ فَقُوِّمَتْ مِنْطَقَتُهُ ثَلَاثِينَ أَلْفًا وَكَانَ مَنْ بَارَزَ رَجُلًا فَقَتَلَهُ فَلَهُ سَلَبُهُ فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى عُمَرَ ؓ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ «لَيْسَ هَذَا مِنَ السَّلَبِ الَّذِي يُعْطَى لَيْسَ مِنَ السِّلَاحِ وَلَا مِنَ الْكُرَاعِ وَلَمْ يُنَفِّلْهُ وَجَعَلَهُ مَغْنَمًا»

✧ Jarir ؓ dueled Mihran and killed him. His belt was valued at thirty thousand, and whoever dueled a man and killed him had the right to his spoils. They wrote to 'Umar ؓ, so 'Umar said: "This is not among the spoils that are given; it is neither from weapons nor from horses." He did not grant it to him as a special reward and made it part of the general booty.
