حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا أَبُو سِنَانٍ يَزِيدُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ عَنْ سُكَيْنَةَ بِنْتِ حَنْظَلَةَ

عَنْ أُمِّهَا أُمِّ سِنَانٍ الْأَسْلَمِيَّةِ مِنَ الْمُبَايِعَاتِ قَالَتْ جِئْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي جِئْتُكَ عَلَى حَيَاءٍ وَمَا جِئْتُكَ حَتَّى أُلْجِئْتُ مِنَ الْحَاجَةِ فَقَالَ «لَوِ اسْتَغْنَيْتِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَكِ»

✧ From her mother, Umm Sinan al-Aslamiyyah, one of the women who gave the pledge, she said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of God, I have come to you with shyness, and I did not come to you until I was compelled by need.” He said, “If you were self-sufficient, it would be better for you.”
