حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمِّ طَارِقٍ مَوْلَاةِ سَعْدٍ قَالَتْ

جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ فَسَكَتَ سَعْدٌ ثُمَّ عَادَ فَسَكَتَ سَعْدٌ فَانْصَرَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَتْ فَأَرْسَلَنِي سَعْدٌ إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنَا أَنْ نَأْذَنَ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا أَنَّا أَرَدْنَا أَنْ تَزِيدَنَا قَالَتْ فَسَمِعْتُ صَوْتًا عَلَى الْبَابِ يَسْتَأْذِنُ وَلَا أَرَى شَيْئًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَنْتِ؟» فَقَالَتْ أَنَا أُمُّ مِلْدَمٍ فَقَالَ لَا مَرْحَبًا وَلَا أَهْلًا أَتُهْدِينَ إِلَى أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَاذْهَبِي إِلَيْهِمْ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came and asked permission, but Saʿd remained silent. Then he came again, and Saʿd remained silent, so the Prophet ﷺ left. She said: Saʿd sent me to him to say: Nothing prevented us from granting you permission except that we wanted you to give us more. She said: Then I heard a voice at the door asking permission, but I saw nothing. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Who are you?' She said: 'I am Umm Mildam.' He said: 'No welcome and no greetings. Will you go to the people of Qubāʾ?' She said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then go to them.'
