حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا حَيَّانُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ثنا الْجَفْشِيشُ الْكِنْدِيُّ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنْتَ مِمَّنْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «نَحْنُ بَنُو النَّضْرِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ لَا نَقْفُو أُمَّنَا وَلَا نَنْتَفِي مِنْ أَبِينَا»

✧ I said to the Prophet ﷺ, 'From whom are you, O Messenger of God?' He said, 'We are the Banu al-Nadr b. Kinanah. We do not trace our lineage through our mothers, nor do we disown our fathers.'
