✧ The Mother of al-Ala' al-Ansariyyah, the Woman of Zaid b. Thabit

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ الْعَلَاءِ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي مَرَضِهَا فَقَالَ «أَبْشِرِي يَا أُمَّ الْعَلَاءِ فَإِنَّ» مَرَضَ الْمُسْلِمِ يُذْهِبُ خَطَايَاهُ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ النَّارُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ entered upon her during her illness and said, “Rejoice, O Umm al-Ala', for the illness of a Muslim removes his sins just as fire removes the dross of iron.”
