حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَتْ
لَمَّا قَدِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْمَدِينَةَ اسْتَهَمُوا الْمَنَازِلَ فَصَارَ هَذَا يَنْزِلُ عَلَى هَذَا وَكَانَ مِنْهُمْ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مَظْعُونٍ نَزَلَ عَلَى امْرَأَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَاشْتَكَى فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَعُودُهُ فَوَافَقَ أَنْ قَضَى فَقَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ شَهَادَتِي عَلَيْكَ أَبَا السَّائِبِ أَنَّ اللهَ قَدْ أَكْرَمَكَ فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ»

✧ When the Muslims came to Madinah, they drew lots for dwellings. One would stay with another. Among them was Uthman b. Maz'un, who stayed with a woman from the Ansar. He fell ill, and the Prophet ﷺ kept visiting him. It happened that he died, and the woman said, “My testimony for you, Abu al-Sa'ib, is that Allah has honored you.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, “What makes you know that?”
