حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ وَارَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي قَيْسٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَبَايَةَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ قَالَتْ تُوُفِّيَ ابْنٌ لِي وَزَوْجِي غَائِبٌ فَقُمْتُ فَسَجَّيْتُهُ فِي نَاحِيَةٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَقَدِمَ زَوْجِي فَقُمْتُ فَتَطَيَّبْتُ لَهُ فَوَقَعَ عَلَيَّ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ بِطَعَامٍ فَجَعَلَ يَأْكُلُ فَقُلْتُ إِلَّا أُعْجِبُكَ مِنْ جِيرَانِنَا؟ قَالَ
وَمَا لَهُمْ؟ قُلْتُ أُعِيرُوا عَارِيَةً فَلَمَّا طُلِبَتْ مِنْهُمْ جَزَعُوا قَالَ بِئْسَ مَا صَنَعُوا فَقُلْتُ هَذَا ابْنُكَ قَالَ لَا جَرَمَ لَا تَغْلِبِينِي عَلَى الصَّبْرِ اللَّيْلَةَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ غَدًا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِي لَيْلَتِهِمْ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ لَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ سَبْعَةً كُلُّهُمْ قَدْ قَرَأُوا الْقُرْآنَ»

✧ "And what is wrong with them?" I said, "They were lent a loan, and when it was demanded back from them, they became distressed." He said, "What a bad thing they did." I said, "This is your son." He said, "Then surely you will not overcome me in patience tonight." When morning came, he went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He said, "O Allah, bless them in their night. For after that I saw for her in the mosque seven children, all of whom had memorized the Quran."
