حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدُوسٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ أنا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِسْرَائِيلَ مَوْلَى بَنِي جُشَمِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَعْدَةَ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ يُحَدِّثُ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ جَاءُوا بِرَجُلٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ هَذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَقْتُلَكَ فَقَالَ لَهُ «لَمْ تُرَعْ لَمْ تُرَعْ لَوْ أَرَدْتَ ذَلِكَ لَمْ تُسَلَّطْ عَلَيَّ»

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'They brought a man to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "This man wanted to kill you." He said to him, "Do not be afraid, do not be afraid. If you had intended that, you would not have been given power over me."'
