✧ The lineage of Talha b. Obaidullah

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ سَمَّانِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ طَلْحَةَ الْخَيْرِ وَيَوْمَ غَزْوَةِ ذَاتِ الْعَشِيرَةِ طَلْحَةَ الْفَيَّاضَ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ طَلْحَةَ الْجُودِ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Yaḥyá b. ʿUthmān b. Ṣāliḥ
  2. Sulaymān b. Ayyūb from my father from my father
  3. Mūsá b. Ṭalḥah from his father

✧ On the day of Uhud the Prophet ﷺ named me Talhah al-Khayr (Talhah of Goodness), on the day of the expedition of Dhat al-‘Ushayrah Talhah al-Fayyad (Talhah the Generous), and on the day of Hunayn Talhah al-Jud (Talhah of Bounty).
