al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 21789

✧ The mother of Ayymanah, the mother of Usamah b. Zaid, was originally the slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . She was given to Khadijah's sister and then she was married to Zaid b. Harithah. Her name is also said to be Barakah.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ عَنْ أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يُقْطَعُ السَّارِقُ إِلَّا فِي حَجَفَةٍ» وَقُوِّمَتْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ دِينَارًا أَوْ عَشَرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The thief is not to have his hand cut off except for a shield." And it was valued during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at a dinar or ten dirhams.
