al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 21786

✧ The mother of Ayymanah, the mother of Usamah b. Zaid, was originally the slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . She was given to Khadijah's sister and then she was married to Zaid b. Harithah. Her name is also said to be Barakah.

حَدَّثَنَا دَرَانُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ ثنا مُطَهَّرُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ أَبُو بِشْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدِينِيِّ عَنْ أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ قَالَتْ قَالَ

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي حَائِضٌ فَقَالَ أَوَ بِيَدِكِ هُوَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Hand me the small mat." I said, "I am menstruating." He said, "Is it in your hand?"
