حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ قَالَا ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ وَحَبِيبٍ وَهِشَامٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ
تُوُفِّيَتْ بِنْتُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ اغْسِلْنَهَا بِالْمَاءِ وَالسِّدْرِ ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَائْذَنَّنِي قَالَتْ فَآذَنَّاهُ فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ فَقَالَ أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ وَقَالَتْ بِقَصَّةٍ تَغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ سَبْعًا وَاجْعَلْنَ لَهَا ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُونٍ

✧ A daughter of the Prophet ﷺ died. He said, “Wash her with water and sidr three times, or five times, or more than that if you see fit, and put some camphor in the last of them. When you have finished, inform me.” She said: We informed him, and he threw his waist-wrapper to us and said, “Use it as her innermost shroud.” Ayyub said: And she said, “Wash her three, or five, or seven times, and make three plaits for her.”
