حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِيِ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ
تُوُفِّيَتِ ابْنَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَاجْتَمَعْنَا عِنْدَهَا فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ذَلِكَ بِالْمَاءِ وَالسِّدْرِ وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَائْذَنَّنِي فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا آذَنَّاهُ فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حَقْوَهُ وَقَالَ أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ

✧ A daughter of the Messenger of God ﷺ died, so we gathered at her place and we entered upon her. The Messenger of God ﷺ entered upon us and said, “Wash her three times, or five times, or more than that if you see fit, with water and sidr, and add in the last washing camphor or some camphor. When you have finished, inform me.” When we finished, we informed him, and he threw his waist-wrapper to us and said, “Use it as her innermost shroud.”
