حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ أَبِي جَمِيلٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ سَمَاعَةَ ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ قُرَيْشٍ أَنَّهَا أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرَتْ لَهَا أَنَّهَا تُسْتَحَاضُ فَزَعَمَتْ فَاطِمَةُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ أَثَرَ الدَّمِ ثُمَّ صَلِّي»

✧ From Fatimah bt. Qays, of Banu Asad of Quraysh, that she came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and mentioned to her that she was suffering from prolonged menstrual bleeding. Fatimah claimed that he said: "That is only a vein. When the menstrual period comes, then abandon the prayer; and when it departs, then wash away the trace of blood from yourself, then pray."
